Plunge Pedal & Plod has been Fit & Able's signature annual event since 1997 and we are glad to be back again for! With four courses there is a challenge for athletes of all ages and skill levels. Whether you're new to the sport of a seasoned veteran you will find a course four you!
For 2017 we have added a Splash & Dash! That means just a swim and run, no bike. Like the other events you can race the Splash & Dash individually or as a relay team.
Plunge Pedal Plod is part of Fit & Able's Free-for-All race series. Earn points, have fun, and win prizes! Learn more and sign up for the series here!

9:00 - 11:00 AM Packet Pickup at Omega Sports (Crossroads Cary)
Sunday September 3rd, 2017
7:00 - 8:00 AM Check-in & Packet Pick-up at TAC
8:30 AM Staggered Race Start
* Course will stay open until last athlete is finished.
Race Location: Triangle Aquatic Center and Cary Towne Center. Race registration and refreshments are located in the TAC lobby area. The transition area will be in the TAC parking lot. For Parking: enter Cary Towne Center at the main light across from Adams Elementary School of Triangle Town Blvd. Parking areas will be designated by Sears. All other entrances to the mall on Maynard, Cary Towne Blvd. and Walnut St. will be closed until the last runner is off the course.
Events: Everyone is welcome to participate! This is event has both competitive and recreational categories. Competitive participants will have chip-timed results that will be posted online. All Fit & Able Productions, Inc. events are inclusion events: anyone of any age, skill-level, or ability can participate in any race! All athletes will get event participation ribbons.
Athletic Trainer: An athletic trainer will be located in a medical tent near the transition area and finish line.
Water Stations: There will be two water stations on the course: one by the transition area at the run start and one at the turn around point for the 1 Mile run. Water is also available at the registration and refreshment area. The water stations are marked on the map.
Event Souvenirs: Plunge Pedal & Plod t-shirts are included with your registration fee. Please provide your desired shirt size when you register online. There is no guarantee of getting an event t-shirt if registering after August 1st. Participants will ge their shirts at the finish line after returning their chips.
Awards: Prizes will be awarded to the Top 3 Overall Male/Female winners and Top Relay Team in each race.
Packet Pick-up: All participants must show a photo ID (18 & over) or be with a guardian with a photo ID (17 & under) in order to pick up their race packets. All participants must pick up their own race packet (including relay team members). USAT members must provide their USAT membership number. Athletes who are not USA Triathlon Members must purchase a one day USAT membership.
Inspections: Bike & Helmet inspections are required for athletes ages 17 & under but recommended for all athletes. Inspections must be done by Torrenti Cycles by September 2nd. Additional information will be emailed upon registration. All handle bar ends must be plugged.

Fit & Able Productions is a nonprofit organization that has been supporting community and family fitness in Cary since 1997 through organizing creative events and training programs. Our events also help support many programs, such as swim safety lessons for underprivileged children and adults, youth fitness programs, and health education run by our community partners including the Cary Family YMCA, Triangle Aquatic Center, and Town of Cary. Proceeds from our events that aren't designated to support other organizations go to support the event and other Fit & Able nonprofit activities.
