--- 2017 OAKFEST TRIATHLON --- PADDLE, PEDAL & POUND ---

The 2nd annual Oakfest triathlon starts and ends at Messaonskee Lake!!!  

Join us for this fun PADDLE - PEDAL - POUND great for athletes of any level!

The course begins at the Oakland Boat Landing on Messaonskee Lake, where participants will begin their first leg, paddling 2.5 miles out and back around the first island you come to.  Once back at the boat landing, transition to your bicycle and pedal 12 miles on paved roads through town, out along Messalonskee Stream and past beautiful rural Maine lands.  Transitioning again at the boat landing, finishing the race with a 3.1 mile run on paved roads, sidewalks and trail.  A great way to see amazing Oakland!  

Our first event was a huge success and we are excited about growing this fun race!  

All levels are welcome!  Join as a team or individual!

This is a Canoe/Kayak - Bike - Run triathlon!!!!

Paddle - 2.5 mile loop on Messonskee Lake

Bike - 12 mile loop starting at the Oakland Boat Landing, heading out Rt. 23 and back 10 Lots/Oak Street

Run - 3.1 mile loop starting at the Oakland Boat Landing, heading through town, looping through trails behind the middle school and finishing back at the boat landing.

Racers are responsible for their own kayak/canoe, paddle and MUST WEAR A PDF.  Racers are also responsible for their own bike.  All transitions will be at the same location.  Event will be rain or shine.

8:30AM --- Athlete's Meeting

9:00AM --- First Wave Starts

9:10AM --- Second Wave Starts

9:20AM --- Third Wave Starts (as needed)
