Mighty Kids Triathlon is a kids race for children ages 3-14 with 5 age groups and age appropriate distances for each age group. Mighty Kids Triathlon began in 2011 and is a very positive experience to introduce young athletes to the wonderful sport of triathlon. Each finisher receives a medal and trophys are awarded to 1st,2nd,3rd place in each age group for males and females. Prizes are also awarded to the fastes swimmer, bike, and runner in each leg. Door prizes are also given. The age groups are: 3-4 yr olds; 5-6 yr olds; 7-8 yr olds; 9-11 yr olds; and 12-14 yr olds. Distances for each are as follows:
3-4 yr olds swim 25 yds/bike 200 meters/run 100 meters; 5-6 yr olds swim 50 yds/bike 1 mile/run 1k; 7-8 yr olds swim 75 yds/bike 2 miles/run 1k; 9-11 yr olds swim 100 yds/bike 3 miles/run 1.5k; 12-14 yr olds swim 200 yds/bike 4 miles/run 2k
Course Information:
The swim takes place in an indoor pool, the bike route is out and back, and the run is also out and back. The bike route is well supported with police officers, volunteers, and is closed to traffic. The run route is in the neighborhood across the street from the race site and is volunteer supported. Maps are available on our website, mightykidstriathlon.org
Directions:
The race takes place at 103 Valhi Blvd, Houma, La. 70360 at the Bayouland YMCA. This is not a YMCA event...it is Mighty Kids Triathlon, Inc event.
