_ 2017 Huntsville Rocketman Triathlon:
The Rocketman Triathlon is a USAT Sanctioned Olympic Distance Triathlon hosted by Team Rocket Tri-Club. 2017 marks the 24th year for the Rocketman Triathlon. Proceeds from the event are donated to the Madison County Special Olympics.
Course Information:
SWIM: 1.5 kilometers
The swim will start in a “Wave” fashion. Waves are based upon your Estimated Finish Time you give when you register. You will swim in a clockwise direction around the buoys. Current will be insignificant, as TVA will release water from the dams at a minimum flow rate.
BIKE: 40 kilometers
The bike course is out-and-back, on rolling rural roads. Roads will have a lot of police presence to ensure a safe ride for race participants.
RUN: 10 kilometers
The run course is FLAT and takes place on the Tennessee River and Aldridge Creek Greenway. When you exit the Transition Area, you will run 1 mile out and 1 mile back along the Tennessee River. After running .5 miles through Ditto landing, you will run north on the Aldridge Creek Greenway for approximately 1.5 miles out and 2.2 miles back to the Finish.
