- The Mountain Man Triathlon is a great early season sprint triathlon that is fast becoming a regional favorite. This race is held in conjunction with the Town of Alpine Mountain Days, which is also a favorite event in the area.
The scenery of this triathlon is just gorgeous, and the course is challenging enought for intermediate levels, but easy enough to cut your triathlon teeth on.
Course Information:
The course begins at the East Alpine Boat Ramp with a 600 M Swim in the Mighty Snake River. Swimmers could be going against or with the current, depending on the level of the river, which changes each year. Next, the bike course is 17 K of biking bliss, beginning on neighborhood roads and ascending to the two lane gravel roads in the Alpine foothills, and then descending into downtown Alpine, where the last leg of the journey begins. The run course is 6K trail/road run along Greys River and finishing in the heart of Mountain Days in beautiful downtown Alpine.
