2011 Santa Ynez Triathlon:

  • A sprint triathlon with pool swim at Santa Ynez High School.

    • Course Information:


    SWIM: 350 Meters. (7 laps/14 lengths)
  • Only participants allowed on pool deck.
  • No drafting.

    TRANSITION AREA:
  • Exit the pool gate and head west towards outdoor basketball courts adjacent to pool.

    BIKE: 16K
  • Course is relatively flat with a couple of minor hills on Roblar Avenue.
  • All roads are paved public roads.
  • Riders must always wear a helmet with a chin strap attached and obey all traffic laws including vehicular traffic, stop signs and signals.
  • NO head phones or ear phones are allowed on the bike course.
  • NO drafting permitted.

    TRANSITION AREA: (Same transition area as listed above.)
  • Enter SYHS from Refugio Rd and head west to the bike racks.
  • Replace your bike on the rack and your run will begin from the transition area and head west on the back of the school campus, connecting to a class 1 bike path paralleling the bike course.

    RUN: 5K (3.1 miles)
  • The run will take place on the bike path running parallel to Mission Drive (HWY 246).
  • Runners heading west must stay on the right side of the path and will turn around at the designated area.
  • Runners heading east, must stay on the right side of the path.
  • NO head phones or ear phones are allowed on the course.

  • 2975 East Highway 246, Santa Ynez, CA 93460
  • Please park on campus parking lot at the corner of Refugio Rd and Mission Drive (HWY 246)
  • or campus parking lot at west end of campus off Mission Drive (HWY 246) across from El Rancho Market.
  • No parking on Mission Drive (HWY 246).
