_ 2017 Toughman Tennessee Half Iron - an Atomic Experience:

The TOUGHMAN Half Iron series is happy to announce the addition of TOUGHMAN Tennessee - an Atomic experience to the TOUGHMAN Half Iron series. Registration is now open. Tennessee is the “latest” state to host a TOUGHMAN Half.

This race will be a great end of season race for athletes in the South and Midwest US that want to visit the “Birthplace of Country Music”. Qualifiers from the TOUGHMAN Tennessee Atomic Half Iron triathlon will be able to compete in the TOUGHMAN Half Iron International Championship in New York in 2018.

“Adding the TOUGHMAN Tennessee  - an Atomic experience Half Iron to our series means that athletes can be a drive away from racing all 3 TOUGHMAN races in the South East- TM GA, TM AL and TM TN.”

The Toughman/AtomicMan Triathlon is Tennessees oldest half iron distance event and part of the ATOMIC WEEKEND along with the Atomic Sprint Triathlon & Duathlon. 2017 celebrates the 15th year of the event that has won praises from athletes, spectators and officials as one of the best half iron distance races in the Eastern US. Awards 3 deep in 5 year age groups, Finishers Medal & apparel, packet includes shirts, race socks, BASE Products & more. Over $1k in door prizes from Rudy Project, XTERRA Wet Suits, GU & more.

Race date & time: Sunday, October 8, 2017- 7:30 AM EST start  - Note: we currently have "no time cut-offs" - historically, longest segment times have been: swim 1:15, bike 4 hours, run 3:45 - finish line, music, etc. will be in place for all finishers - venue tear-down may begin depending on severe weather forecast, as in 2014. Safety is our first priority.
