The Twin Lakes Triathlon is a .47 mile swim, a 12.4 mile bike ride, and a 3.1 mile run – exactly half the Olympic distance. This is the only Half-Olympic Distance Sprint Triathlon being run – you can be part of history!
In addition to the Triathlon, a run-bike-run Duathlon is offered. The Twin Lakes Duathlon features a 1.6 mile run, beginning synchronously with the opening swim portion of the Triathlon. The Duathlon then follows the same course – 12.4 mile bike ride and 3.1 mile run – as the Triathlon.

The swim portion of the Twin Lakes Triathlon is a 750 meter (0.47 mile), open water swim. The swim begins and ends at Twin Lakes State Park. Athletes will start in waves.
Duathlon Run (Click here for map)
The Duathlon follows a run-bike-run format, rather than the traditional swim-bike-run format. The first run will begin synchronously with the swim, starting at Twin Lakes State Park. This initial run is 2.5 kilometers (1.6 miles), going south and looping back to the central transition area.

The bike portion of both the Triathlon and Duathlon is a 20 kilometer (12.4 mile) course. The route consists of two laps of the lake on freshly redone, blacktop roads with road markings and personnel assistance.

The run for the Triathlon and Duathlon is 5 kilometers (3.1 miles). The route follows the paved Twin Lakes Recreation Trail.

The Twin Lakes Triathlon and Duathlon share a single transition area between the swim and bike and between the bike and run.
