SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

Fri    5:30pm    Check in - have swim gear on or in hand
5:45pm    Change into swim gear and be on deck
5:45-6pm    Introduction & basic freestyle technique presentation
6-6:30pm    On the fly coaching & stroke tips (warm up, swim drills, stroke analysis)
7:30-8:30pm    Essentials of open water swimming (bilateral breathing, sighting, mass swim starts)
8:30-9pm    Wrap up/Question & Answer - On the fly coaching


Sat    7:30-8am    Athletes meet 7:45am in bike gear, helmet on, bike prepared to ride
8-8:30am    Group Ride Session:
I. Group Riding Skills - Learn how to ride in a group safely and what all the lingo means
8:30-9:30am    II. Group Rides
(A Ride: 18-19: mph)
(B Ride: 15-18 mph)
(C Ride: 10-14mph)
9:30-9:45am    Snack/Change Break
9:45-11am    Bike Leg Presentation:
I. Equipment - Technological advances. Road bike versus tri bike.
II. Proper Fit and Aerodynamics - Learn how riding in the right position can save time and avoid injuries.
III. Pedal Stroke - How to obtain an efficient and powerful pedal stroke.
IV. Types of Workouts and Basic Training Theory - Get more out of every workout and get to race day injury free.
V. Basic bike nutrition and hydration
VI. Q&A (depending on time)
11am-12pm    I. Basic Bike Maintenance
a. How to change a flat
b. Basic bike adjustments and tuning
c. Cleaning a bike to maintain performance
12-1pm    Lunch Break
1-2pm    Run Leg Presentation:
I. Shoes and Other Equipment - Find out the truth about running shoes and what you should not be wearing.
II. Proper Warm Up Technique - Quick and easy ways to warm up your whole body and avoid injuries.
III. Running Mechanics - The basics of efficient running technique
IV. Types of Workouts and Training Theory - Workouts for specific goals and performance level.
V. Basic Nutrition and Hydration
2-3pm    Group Run Skills Session:
I. Active Dynamic  Warm Up- Practice what you've learned
II. Running Mechanics Drill Session - Work on running economy and speed development
III. Technique Videos and On-the-Fly Coaching
3:00pm    Snack break
3:15-4:30pm    Presentation: Strength Training for Triathletes
I. Strength Training Theory- Why it's important
II. Strength Phases
III. Hands On Exercise Technique (not a workout)
4:30-5pm    Transition Presentation:
I. Transition Area Set Up- Do's and don'ts for great transitions. Know exactly what to do and how.
II. Beginner to Advanced Transition Techniques- Flying mount/dismount, socks or no socks and much more.
5-5:30pm    Move to transition area, set up your area
5:30-7pm    Transition Practice:
I. Mounting and Dismounting Bike
II. Swim to Bike - Wetsuit Removal
III. On-the-fly Coaching

Other Info:

In addition to the training on Friday and Saturday, and the race on Sunday, all participants have the ability to add extra 1 hour sessions for swim technique, bike/transitions, or run technique coaching that will be held Sunday afternoon. These sessions will be limited to 6 people per session to ensure everyone gets plenty of personal attention. Each session costs $20, or you can add all 3 for only $50. That's 3 hours of semi private coaching for only $50! These sessions are preregistration only, and can be added during the online registration process.
