2011 Lake Zurich Area Triathlon:
The Lake Zurich Area triathlon, an Olympic only distance event, returned with a strong showing in 2010.
The event is based out of beautiful Paulus park, which serves as the single location for pre/post race activities, as well as the only transition area.
The swim is the mostly calm and shallow waters of Lake Zurich. Much of the bike course has been re-paved in the past couple of years and cyclists will enjoy the fact that much of the course is closed to traffic in the lane they are riding. The run course winds through Lake Zurich and ends up with a finish back in the heart of Paulus Park.

Course Info:
|
Swim:
The swim will consist of a single 1.5k loop Lake Zurich.
The course will be well marked with buoys and plenty of volunteer watercraft.
Bike:
The 40k rolling bike course will currently be the same as last year, although we are looking at a small potential tweak.
The course is well-paved and 80% of the course is closed to traffic in the lane cyclists are traveling.
Run:
Similar to the bike, the 10k run course is currently remaining the same.
It is flat to rolling with plenty of aid stations with water and Gatorade.
We are researching a potential change to make the course even more spectator friendly.
