2011 Tri For The Kids Olympic Triathlon:

Join us in Rome, Georgia for the 2nd Annual Tri For The Kids Olympic Distance Triathlon!

Swim, bike and run through downtown Rome and beyond.

Relay teams are welcome and encouraged.

The event is being held in conjunction with the 3rd Annual Tri For The Kids Youth Triathlon with proceeds from both races benefiting the Boys & Girls Club of Rome.

Course Information:

Swim:

The race will include a 1.1 mile point-to-point time trial swim in the Etowah River - participants will be swimming with the current.

Racers will enter the water 1 at a time.

Racers will need to stay in the center of the river.

Wetsuits recommended.

Water temperature will be posted and updated closer to race day.

Bike:

The bike is on good city and county roads, flat to rolling with a couple of small, challenging hills - should allow for a fast ride.

Bike:

The run will be primarily flat to gently rolling towards the end.

Directions:

Rome, Georgia is located approximately 1 hour 15 minutes northwest of Atlanta.

From Atlanta's perimeter (I-285), take I-75 North about 45 miles to Exit 290 (Rome/ Canton).

Turn left on Georgia route 20.

After three miles, you will come to a three-way traffic light.

Turn left and then take an immediate right up a ramp onto US 41 north.

Proceed three miles and then exit onto US 411 south and travel about 25 miles toward Rome.

Transition Area:

The transition area is located at 111 Bridgepoint Plaza - Rome, GA 30161 in the Wells Fargo parking lot.

- 1st Place Age Group (M/F): 19 and Under, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55- 59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85+

- Clydesdale & Athena 1st Place (200+ lbs., 150+ lbs.)

- Team Award 1st Place (Male, Female, Mixed)

All participants will receive a tech t-shirt & SWAG; however they may not be available to participants that register after 4/18.
