2011 YMCA Colonial Beach International Triathlon:

The Colonial Beach Triathlon Festival consist of 2 great events set in scenic Colonial Beach.

While this race is new to the VTS, 2011 will make the 27th year for these races.

Sprint triathlon on Saturday.

Olympic distance on Sunday.

Course Information:

The swim starts out with a 2 loop 1400 meter swim in the Potomac river.

This is then followed by a 40K bike course through mostly rural countryside which is flat in the beginning and end but rolling in the middle.

Upon your return to the beach athletes will embark on a flat, fast out and back 10K course.

Other Info:

Athletes will then be treated to a post race feast and can spend the day in Colonial Beach or the surrounding area.
