_ 2017 The 33rd Annual Colchester Triathlon:
This summer, the Colchester Parks and Recreation Department is hosting the 33rd Annual Colchester Triathlon. The Colchester Triathlon is host to over 400 athletes from various locations across the United States and Canada. In additoin to the wide array of athletes, the triathlon also attracts thousands of spectators.
The revenue generate from this event provides us with much needed resources to give us the ability to fund new parks, playgrounds, improve our schools, improve our youth athletic programs, improve our community facilities, and enhance the overall quality of life in our community. All Triathlon participants can compete individually, in co-ed, and in all male or female teams of three.

Course Information:
1/2 mile swim or 2 mile kayak
The first leg of the triathlon, the swim or kayak portion takes place in Lake Champlain in beautiful Malletts Bay. The swim portion is a triangle design and the kayak portion is a 1-mile paddle out and 1-mile paddle back to shore.12 mile bike
The bike course starts along the waterfront taking you past a few camps which leads to Main Street Colchester in the center of town. You will pass the historic Meeting House and the Burnham Memorial Library. This is an open course to traffic.3 mile run
The run will take you along a shaded path through quintessential New England neighborhoods and back along the waterfront until you arrive in Colchester's reknowned Bayside Park through the finish line.COLCHESTER TRIATHLON COURSE

- Take I-89 North (from NH/VT Border about 1.5 hours) From I-89, take Exit 16 (Colchester/Malletts Bay).
- At the bottom of the exit take a right and follow Route 2 & 7 North for approximately 1.9 miles to the traffic light at the intersection of Routes 2 & 7, Blakely and Severance Road (just after a steep hill).
- Turn left at the light onto Blakely Road. Continue .6 miles beyond the Colchester Police Department and Town Offices (will be on your right .1 miles after you go over a bridge).
- You will pass two schools on your right. Then you will go through a traffic light at a cross walk and another blinking light at Laker Lane. .2 miles beyond that Blakely road Ends.
- Bayside Park is on your left at the light. Take that Left .
