2011 Steelcase Grand Duathlon:

Steelcase Grand Duathlon is traditionally the first official multi-sport of the year and has offered up some absolutely spectacular weather the past 5 years. However you all know this is Michigan in April weather can change in hours from great to poor at best. So you must be prepared for that, and I can't remember a year where wind did not play a factor on the bike course here. If you have it with you on the way out you better be tucked and ready to spin home. Thats the reason you need to pay attention to the conditions while racing. If the temp drops while you are getting ready to race in the spring something is coming in.

The runs are flat and fast, out and back so you can watch your competition. Be ready for the short but challenging climb back to the Steelcase pyramid at the very end of the bike, that was a down hill heading out.

Course Information:

2011 Steelcase Duathlon race course:

Run course is totally contained within the facility and is totally flat, fast pavement run, out and back.

Bike course is very fast but does have a few rolling hills in it.

Directions:

Steelcase Kentwood complex is located just outside Grand Rapids.

Go to the 52nd street gate.

Parking will be in the lot across from the transition area.

Follow the parking signs

Do not park in no parking areas.
