2011 TRI for the Y Indoor Triathlon:
Course Information:
The TRI for the Y is a set-time indoor triathlon, where you compete to cover the most distance in three 30-minute segments. You can compete as an individual and do all three segments yourself, or form a 2- or 3-person relay, where each participant completes one or two segments.
Swimming takes place in our 25-yard lap pool. You will have your own lane. The start is in-water; no diving is allowed. Volunteers track completed laps, swum within the 30-minute segment.
Biking takes place on Star Trac spin bikes equipped with clip-in pedals. You can adjust the seat height and resistance on the bike to your desired personal settings. Volunteers track total distance biked within the 30-minute segment.
Running takes place on LifeFitness treadmills. You can adjust the speed and incline on your treadmill to your desired personal settings. Volunteers track total distance run within the 30-minute segment.
We have allotted a 10 minute transition time between each segment of the race. During transitions, participants often use the time to change clothes and/or shoes, re-fill their water bottles, use the restroom, and travel to the next segment of the race.
