_ 2017 Pioneer Sprint Triathlon:
The Pioneer Sprint Triathlon will begin April 30, 2017 and offers a 300 yard swim in the heated indoor PORTA pool, a beautiful 13 mile bike ride on a rolling and flat prairie road and the chance to run 3.1 miles through picturesque Petersburg. The run will take you past century old architectural gems, up and down the streets of Petersburg and through a historic cemetery. All ages are welcome and Clydesdales, Athenas and teams are encouraged to enter. An awards ceremony will follow after the last runner crosses the finish line.
When you finish the swim you can step into the locker rooms to dry off and change into bike and run clothes.
Post race dinner of chicken and noodles, green beans and dessert will be provided to all racers.
Post race showers will be available at the PORTA pool. Racers should tune to 1610 am for the latest race information.

Course Information:
SWIM
- 300 Yard serpentine swim in a heated indoor pool at PORTA High School
- Self-seeded start based on 100 yard estimated time
- Staggered every 15 seconds
BIKE
- 13 mile out-and-back ride on rolling, picturesque prairie roads
RUN
- Run through town past architectual gems to an historic 1800's cemetery.
- View your friends and competition throughout the challenging out and back course while you admire the statuary, obelisks and other grand memorials to pioneers of the past.
