_ 2017 The 32nd Rotary Pineapple Man Triathlon:

• Three decades ago members of the Melbourne Beach Rotary Club put together the first triathlon in this part of Florida.
• This race help put Central Florida on the triathlon map. What began as an innovative idea for charitable fund raising has become a tradition in our community.
• Hundreds of endurance athletes from around the state and across the nation look forward to racing on our courses each year.
• This entrant number capped event is expected to sell out early.
• This charity fund raising event is the oldest continually run sprint triathlon in Florida and supports community projects and humanitarian projects locally, nationally and internationally.
• One of the many international projects – Polio Plus – was started in 1985 with the goal of eradicating polio from the face of the earth. And, the good news is the World is very close to being polio-free.
• Race proceeds also allow our Rotary Club to contribute significantly to national programs and our local community by supporting various initiatives that make a difference; such as Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Gemini Elementary School and Friends of Melbourne Beach Library. Year after year, the Rotary Pineapple Man™ Triathlon makes a difference in our world.
