Nestled in the beautiful coastal foothills of Sonoma County, athletes will swim in Lake Sonoma. Athletes will start their swim from the boat ramp on the north side of the Rockpile Road Bridge. Swimmers will swim two loops in the lake before exiting and running up the boat ramp to transition.

Athletes will transition to their bikes, setting out on the 112-mile course featuring gentle rollers as they ride through famous wine country and quaint towns. Preserving the best parts of the iconic IRONMAN Vineman event and improving the overall athlete experience, the bike course is a tour of Sonoma County's beautiful wine country and pastoral countryside, passing through famous grape growing regions including: the Russian River Valley Region, Dry Creek Valley, and Alexander Valley. After athletes reach Santa Rosa they will proceed to do a couple smaller loops around the southern part of Sonoma County’s pastoral country side. Each loop will return near the transition area providing ideal spectator viewing of athletes multiple times during the bike course. Transition 2 will be near the newly constructed Courthouse Square situated right in the heart of downtown Santa Rosa.

Athletes will transition to the run and will link up with the Santa Rosa Creek trail, this tree lined 2-loop run course will provide a flat, shaded fast course for athletes to enjoy. Each loop will return near the Courthouse Square for ideal spectator viewing with the Finish on the north side of the Courthouse Square.
