The quaint, rustic village of Mont-Tremblant is home to the IRONMAN Mont-Tremblant. The surrounding area is known for its hiking, skiing, kayaking, golfing and cycling—making it an idyllic location for IRONMAN athletes and their families and friends. The village of Mont-Tremblant and its surrounding communities offer a walkable, easily navigable location for all your race-week activities.

Athletes will start the 2.4-mile (3.8 km) swim in Lac Tremblant, which in August boasts comfortably warm, wetsuit-legal temperatures. The quarter-mile run to T1 is lined with a soft red carpet, and cheering spectators. The two-loop, 112-mile (180 km) bike course runs through Mont-Tremblant’s forests and low lying mountains, offering challenging elevations and highly spectator-friendly vantage points. The two-loop, 26.2-mile (42.2 km) run course takes full advantage of the famous Le P'tit Train du Nord, a former railway bed turned into the longest linear park in Canada. Note that this once crushed gravel path has now been paved for the event. The run, lined with enthusiastic spectators, takes runners past a waterfall alongside Lac Tremblant and into the heart of the pedestrian village of Tremblant Resort.

Course Information:

Athletes will start the 2.4-mile (3.8 km) swim on the golden sands of the Beach & Tennis club located next to the charming village of Tremblant Resort. The swim in Lake Tremblant gives athletes a clear view of the sheltering mountains and the estimated water temperature on race day is 71 F / 22 C. The swim finishes at Parc Plage, 300 meters from T1.

IRONMAN Mont-Tremblant will feature a wave start based on age group. There will be eight waves with each wave entering the water five minutes apart, starting at 6:42 a.m. All athletes will have at least 17 hours to complete the entire event (subject to intermediate cutoffs).)The two hour and twenty minute cutoff for the swim will begin when the final wave has started the swim portion of the event.

You will begin your journey on Montée Ryan to reach Route 117, and, after entering downtown Ville de Mont-Tremblant for a turn-around, you will find yourself back on Montée Ryan and Chemin des Voyageurs, passing the Tremblant Resort and going toward the Municipality of Lac-Supérieur on Chemin Duplessis. Here, you’ll notice that the landscape becomes wilder alongside the river. Before long you will face the most challenging elevation change of the circuit with a maximum grade or 8% and beautiful descents on the way back where you can reach speeds of 60 km per hour, a little rest on the legs before starting your second loop.

The two-loop run course is known for its scenic beauty. Athletes will have the opportunity to run on the famous Le P’tit Train du Nord, a former railway bed that is now the longest linear park in Canada. The road will take runners past a waterfall, alongside beautiful Tremblant Lake and finally, back to the finish line in the Tremblant Resort.
