The New York City Triathlon is one of the nation’s premier urban triathlons, with a race course that wraps through some of the busiest streets in Manhattan. Athletes are able to tackle these roads traffic-free in this International distance event. The race begins with a 1500-meter swim with the fast current in the Hudson River. After a quick transition in Riverside Park, athletes cycle 40-kilometers up the Henry Hudson Parkway into the Bronx and back down along the west side of Manhattan. Once on the run, athletes begin the 10-kilometer run across 72nd Street from Riverside Park and embark on the relentless hills in Central Park with a grand finish in the middle of the park on Dead Road.
