_ 2017 TRI Clear Lake Sprint Triathlon:
The sport of triathlon is exploding in popularity over the past decade and it’s time to bring the excitement back to Clear Lake. On June 10, 2017, TRI Clear Lake will host its first annual sprint triathlon sanctioned by USA Triathlon. TRI Clear Lake will coincide with the “Take Me Back” festival happening this same weekend.
Adding the triathlon to this eventful summer weekend, will bring thousands of additional visitors from Iowa and surrounding states, giving them an opportunity to visit our wonderful community.
Course Information:
The scenic course will be held on and around South Shore of Clear Lake. It will consist of a 750 meter swim in front of State Park beach, 12.4 mile bike along South Shore out past the prairie and windmills, and a 3.1 mile run along the shoreline, finishing lakeside in the eventful downtown area.
Directions:
Clear Lake is conveniently located right off of I-35. Only 2 hours South of Minneapolis and 2 hours North of Des Moines. Swim start and the transition area will be held at State Beach which is located about 2 miles South of downtown just off of South Shore. The race will finish lakefront downtown. Athletes and spectators are welcome to park at State Park or downtown.
