Triathlon : 3K Paddle, 22K Bike, 6K Run |
Join us for the 2017 White Deer Triathlon weekend with the triathlon at 9:00 am on 5/20/2017 includes •3K canoe/kayak/stand-up paddleboard (SUP) course on beautiful Boulder Lake across to historic Camp Manito-wish YMCA, a 23 K bike from Camp Manitowish around a course on the scenic rustic roads back to Camp Manito-wish YMCA and 6.5 K run from Camp Manito-wish YMCA on beautiful roads and trails in the woods of Boulder Junction ending at the new Boulder Junction Community Center building. There are 3 paddle divisions…canoe, kayak and SUP in the award categories for individuals which are top 3 in age categories are recognized with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place medals. Plaques to top male and top female in each division for male and female. The team plaque awards are in two divisions of tandem canoe or tandem kayak for top female teams, male teams and co-ed teams with medal awards to 2nd and 3rd place. Registration on Friday, May 19, 2017 from 5-8:30 pm at the Boulder Junction Community Center. Saturday, May 20, 2017, the race begins at 9:00am at Boulder Lake landing and concludes at 1:00pm at the Boulder Junction Community Center with lunch 11-2:00 pm, celebration party with Live Music from 1-5pm with an award intermission at 1:30 pm. On Sunday, participants and their friends/families can explore the 55+ miles of bike trails, Boulder Junction stores and area lakes on their own. The event will provide competitive heart healthy activities for participants and be a wonderful community event for Boulder Junction. Hosted by Boulder Junction Chamber with support from the Boulder Junction Lions and Boulder Junction Legion #451. Participants should also register for the NOW Tri-Master Series to compete in all 5 area triathlons through out the summer of 2017 with medals and plaques awarded. The White Deer Triathlon is the first event in the NOW Series.
This fun event features a 3-kilometer canoe/kayak/stand-up paddleboard course on Boulder Lake, 22-kilometer bike ride on Boulder Junction’s rustic roads and 6-kilometer run along scenic county roads and onto a beautiful forest trail!
