_ 2017 Proud to Tri- Youth Triathlon:
All levels welcome. This is a family friendly event followed by a brunch for all race families. Bring a blanket and/or chairs. Children can discover what it is like to have fun competing in a triathlon event. Event will be timed by “Time to TRI” using RFID timing chips. Every child receives a medal at the finish line and trophies will be given to the top three finishers (male and female) in each age division. This event will mark the third event in our Triple Crown series. Every child who particpated in all three events will receive a special award at the awards ceremony immediately following the race at the pavillion.
Ages 5-6 yrs old 50 yard swim 1 mile bike .5 mile run
Ages 7-10 yrs old 100 yard swim 2 mile bike .75 mile run
Ages 11-17 yrs old 200 yard swim 4 mile bike 1.5 mile run
Lifejackets can be worn in the water. Training wheels can be used. This event is for all ability levels. We will have first time triathletes as well as athletes that have raced in over 20+ races. Any questions can be directed to the New London Recreation Dept at 860-447-5230 or [email protected]
FIANL deadline to register is noon on September 9. No race day registration will be taken. Register by August 24 to get your child's name on their race bib! Triple Crown deadline is April 29 at noon.
