 - Join runners from across the Southeast as they experience the largest campus in the world on foot - Berry College's 27,000 acre wonderland, packed with miles and miles of historic buildings, pristine forest, and diverse wildlife. Run among some of Berry's 1,200+ deer and enjoy the hospitality of our school/college volunteers!

Half Marathon Race Info:

There are no public roads! The race follows the “stretch road” to the mountain campus, past Frost Chapel, Berry College Elementary & Middle School, and the Old Mill, through the WinShape dairy barns, down Possum Trot Rd., and back to main campus on the Viking Trail to the finish line at the Ford Buildings. This is a relatively flat course with a few moderate hills (see elevation chart below). The bulk of the course is run on paved surface with a short distance on hard-packed dirt road (mile 6-7 to the Old Mill) and another short distance on gravel (mile 8-9 on Possum Trot Rd). First time runners and walkers are welcome, however for safety reasons strollers will not be allowed.

USATF Certified Course - The half-marathon is a USATF certified course open to runners and walkers.


10K Race Info:

Fast and flat 10K follows Lavender Mountain Road and the Viking Trail and winds through main campus. First time runners and walkers are welcome, however for safety reasons strollers will not be allowed. **Please note: The course cuts through the woods to the Viking Trail at mile 3.5. This short section is not paved (25 yards).

10K Start Time: 8 am

USATF Certified Course - The 10K is a USATF certified course open to runners and walkers.


5K Race Info:

USATF Certified. Fun for the whole family! 5K begins at the Ford Buildings and winds past Hermann Hall and the log cabins. The route follows Lavender Mountain Road and cuts over to the Viking Trail before returning to the Ford Buildings. First time runners and walkers are welcome, however for safety reasons strollers will not be allowed.

5K Start Time: 8:20 am

USATF Certified Course - The 5K is a USATF certified course open to runners and walkers.


Kids Fun Run Info:

Kids can participate in a 1-mile Fun Run around Clara Bowl and the surrounding fields. Fun Run registration and check in for pre-registered runners begins at 9:00am in Clara Bowl. Race begins at 10:30am and all finishers receive a medal! T-shirts will be available to purchase.

Directions:

FROM ATLANTA, GEORGIA


Approx. 1 hr., 20 min. (Approx. 72 miles).
Take I-75 N to Rome-Canton Exit 290.
Take left off exit, drive 2.5 mi., then road ends at a light.
Turn left, then take an immediate right onto Highway 41 North (to reach Highway 411).
Drive 2.8 mi., then take Highway 411 South exit (on right).
Drive 17.3 mi., then turn right at light onto East Rome Bypass (Rome Loop 1).
Drive 8.4 mi., then take right at light (see The Martha Berry Museum on your left) onto Martha Berry Highway (U.S. Highway 27 North).
Drive 0.7 mi., then turn left into Berry College main entrance.

FROM BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA


Approx. 2 hrs., 15 min. (Approx. 128 miles).
Take I-59 North to I-759 at Gadsden.
Take I-759 to 411 N Take 411 North from Gadsden to Centre.
At Centre, take Alabama 9 to Georgia.
At the Georgia state line Alabama 9 will turn into Georgia State 20.
Take Georgia State 20 to Rome. At Floyd Medical Center (on your right) in Rome, turn left onto Highway 27 (Martha Berry Highway).
Drive on U.S. Highway 27 until you reach the main entrance to Berry College (on left).

FROM CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE


Approx. 1 hr., 30 min. (Approx. 75 miles).
Take I-75 South to Exit 312 (Highway 53).
Take Highway 53 West through Calhoun to Rome (approximately 25 mi.).
Turn right onto Rome Loop 1 (Veterans Memorial Highway) at the light (you will see Calvary Baptist Church on your right).
Turn right at the 3rd light (see The Martha Berry Museum on your left) onto Martha Berry Hwy (U.S. Highway 27 North).
Drive 0.7 mi., then turn left into Berry College main entrance.
