The Thumbs Up High 5K event was created to spread awareness about depression, mental health and suicide awareness. Each of our committee members has been touched by suicide in their life, whether it be a relative, friend, co-worker or a classmate.
Our Mission Statement:
We value LIFE and we ASPIRE to help others in our COMMUNITY by talking about MENTAL HEALTH.
Our Vision is to see a world that doesn’t discriminate against those with mental health conditions. We will go to combat with our Health Care System to umbrella all mental health ailments. One-by-one, with each 5K, 10K, 1/2 Marathon or Full Marathon, we will explore practical mental health care coverage. We will do this with benevolence for those we’ve already lost; we will shape a new path for those who struggle with depression. With responsibility, we will guide those who encounter this disease.

Registration Check-in: 8:00am-9:30am (We do not guarantee a t-shirt for same-day registrations)
Azitala Warm Up Yoga: 9:00am - 9:20am
Opening Ceremonies & Honorary Guest Speakers: 9:30am - 9:50am

Heat 3 - Runners: 10:10am

Azitala Recovery Yoga: 10:40am - 11:00am
1K Run for Kids: 11:30am - 12:00pm (Run with the Thumbs Up Mascot!)
Post Race Festivities: 12:00pm - 2:00pm
The location of the run has changed for 2016 due to construction in Downtown Elk River. The event will be held at Orono Park and a new route will be announced soon!
Please bring your event pre-registration receipt if you register online.
Dress for the weather, wear layers.
* Race cancellation and weather policy: Event may be dalayed, shortened or in rare circumstances cancelled, in the event of inclement weather including lightening, wind, heat, snow, or the threat of eminent severe weather which may harm or injure participants, staff, set up crew, and bystanders. Event time frame includes setup, race and tear down. All possible attempts will be made to contact those involved by email, website, and social meda. No refunds or transfers allowed.
