5K USATF Certified Course # FL10031EBM

The purpose of the USATF course certification program is to produce road race courses of accurately measured distances. For any road running performance to be accepted as a record or be nationally ranked, it must be run on a USATF-certified course. In addition, the certification program is very important to the average road racer, as well as those of exceptional speed. Most runners like to compare performances run on different courses, and such comparisons are difficult if course distances are not reliable. No one can truly establish a personal best if the course distance is not accurate.

BENEFICIARY
HEART TRANSPLANT FOR A LOCAL - This fourth of July marks three years that this beautiful young woman, Diana Kanaszka-Folino, who is just 40, was on her way to success in business and a life of happiness.

She had recently graduated from Liberty University while working a full time job and raising a family.

Wading in the water on the beach she collapsed and nearly drowned. She was rescued and rushed to the hospital where she was paralyzed from the neck down.

The doctors struggled to determine what had caused her near fatal accident.

Her paralysis lasted a couple of days before she started to recover the use of her body. Her doctors after extensive testing determined that she was in heart failure.

With no explanation she had lost some 80%-85% use of her heart.

Her Ejection Fraction fluctuates between 19 and 20. This began a long series of tests and treatments to try to bring her heart back to some normality. It was hoped that a series of medications would improve the function of the heart, but to no avail.

Since that time she has been in and out of the hospital many times and despite the fact that she should be on disability she continues to try to work to pay her way.

In addition to the heart failure she was recently diagnosed with Sarcoidosis, an auto-immune disease.

So now, she is undergoing treatments for that as well. After a recent emergency hospital stay her doctors told her and us that there was nothing else that they could do to make her heart any better.

They could only continue to medicate her to try to make her comfortable.

They said that her only alternative to get her life back was that she needed to consider talking to a Heart Transplant Specialist. She has now begun the testing for evaluation required by the transplant team at Mayo.

We have been told that the costs will be in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. Despite having insurance the costs for her are going to be extreme, and the costs are continuing to add up. As her parents, Darlene and I have tried to help as much as we could with finances along the way.

Our finances are reaching their limits, and that's why your help is needed. Diana could have a very long and wonderful life ahead of her. Please keep her in your prayers and pray for a miracle. Please consider helping however you can.
