Colorado Fund for Muscular Dystrophy (CFMD) Race ‘N Roll 5K will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2016 in Henrico, VA!

Join our 3rd annual charity race to benefit the Colorado Fund for Muscular Dystrophy. This will be a chip timed race provided by Commonwealth Timing. There will be a 1 Mile Kids Fun Run before the start of the 5K. Each Fun Run participants will receive a participation medal.

The Race ‘N’ Roll 5K coincides with the Filipino Festival. Run or walk for a good cause, eat lumpia (Filipino-style egg roll) after the race, and enjoy great activities, food and entertainment at the Filipino Festival.

Participants and volunteers will receive a complimentary race t-shirt, race recovery food, and a food voucher to use at the Filipino Festival following the race. Prizes will be awarded to the overall top three finishers and the top finishers in different age categories.

Proceeds from the race will go directly to CFMD to fulfill its mission to improve the quality of life for persons with Muscular Dystrophy living in Virginia. CFMD sponsors children with MD  to attend a special camp in Wakefield, VA each year. CFMD also provides grants to individuals to help pay for services, modifications, and equipment. Last year, CFMD granted a 5 year old boy with Duchenne muscular dystrophy an adaptive tricycle.

The Colorado Fund for Muscular Dystrophy is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was established in 2012 in memory of Aileen Colorado, who died at the age of 36 from complications of muscular dystrophy. In her honor and spirit of helping others, we established CFMD to provide support and assistance to individuals and families to help make their lives better.
