Vmps Endurance & MRA Multisport are teaming up to produce the 2nd annual Open Water Swim Training Race in Lake Singletary!
The 2, 1 or 0.5 mile open water swim race is in beautiful Lake Singletary from Marion's Camp at 6:30pm on August 18, 2016. The 1 mile course is essentially the same swim course as the Blackstone Valley Olympic Triathlon at this venue; the 0.5 mile course is just half of that, 2 mile is double obviously. It's a great way to test your swim fitness gains over the season! This timed event will feature a time-trial start* and includes swim cap with your registration.
*Both of the triathlons hosted at Marion's Camp (Summer Solstice Sprint and Blackstone Valley Oly Tri are "time-trial" swim start formats, as are many other races these days. This format is where the time for each racer isn't started until you cross the "start line", with racers heading out 2 by 2. This allows for a cleaner overall swim and avoids much of the survival of the first 100 yards of over a more traditional "wave or mass-start" formats.
