2016 Worcester Tri-Fest
June 5, 2016 at 7:30am (kids at 10:00)
to benefit the Greendale YMCA
Formerly the Greendale Tri, the Worcester Tri-Fest features multisport events for the whole family; traditional triathlon, paddle option, aquabike, aquathlon, duathlon, relay teams, and kids races!
Racers in the Sprint tri have the option of swimming 0.25 miles in calm Indian Lake or kayaking/SUPing 1 mile or run 1 mile (duathlon option). Everyone will then hop on the bikes for a NEW 12 mile course that brings you out of Worcester and through the scenic back roads of Holden, MA. The run is a challenging 5k loop through adjoining neighborhoods before crossing the Finish Line at the Bancroft School. Aquabike is just swim and bike. Aquathlon is just swim and run.
Kids have their own race too! The younger kids (6-9) will complete one length of the pool (50 yds), bike 1 mile on roads completely closed to traffic, and then run 1/4 mile. The older kids (10-14) will do twice the distances (100 yds in pool/2 miles/0.5 miles). Kids Aquathlon is just the swim and run for the appropriate age distances. NOTE: The kids will swim in the Greendale YMCA pool.
Registration for any event (adults and kids) includes finisher medal for everyone, timing splits (overall time for kids only), music, post-race snacks. Race shirts are available for purchase separately through online registration (free ones are NOT included with registration; this keeps the entry fees down and allows us to offer a variety of high quality products for sale).
