Wildcat Lake Open Water Swim

½ Mile Swim

The ½ mile swim will travel in a counter-clockwise triangle.   The race will start at 9:00am and there will be a 30 minute time limit to complete the course.   Certified lifeguards and First Aid volunteers will be positioned on surfboards, kayaks and motor boats at multiple points throughout the course.

1 Mile Swim

The 1 mile swim will travel in a counter-clockwise diamond course.   The race will start at approximately 9:45am, or shortly after the last swimmer completes the ½ mile course.  There will be a 1 hour time limit to complete the 1 mile course.  Lifeguards and First Aid volunteers will be positioned on surfboards, kayaks and motor boats at multiple points throughout the course.

DIRECTIONS:    From the North (Poulsbo, Bainbridge Island): Take Hwy. 3 South, Take the Newberry Hill Exit; Turn Right, Go West up Newberry Hill Road, Turn LEFT on Seabeck Hwy. Turn RIGHT on Holly Road; proceed 1 mile to Wildcat Lake Park which will be on your LEFT.

From the South (Tacoma, etc.):  Take Hwy 3 North, Take the Newberry Hill Exit; Turn Right, Go West up Newberry Hill Road, Turn LEFT on Seabeck Hwy. Turn RIGHT on Holly Road; proceed 1 mile to Wildcat Lake Park which will be on your LEFT.

From Bremerton Ferry:  The ferry exits onto Washington Ave., continue on Washington as it turns into 11th Ave., Turn RIGHT onto Kitsap Way, Follow Kitsap Way to the Hwy 3 North on ramp, Take Hwy 3 North, Take the Newberry Hill Exit; Turn Right, Go West up Newberry Hill Road, Turn LEFT on Seabeck Hwy. Turn RIGHT on Holly Road; proceed 1 mile to Wildcat Lake Park which will be on your LEFT.

AWARDS:  Each swimmer will receive a commemorative T-shirt and swim cap.   Awards will be given to the top overall male and female, top age group male and female, and top overall male and female in the wet suit division.

Swimmers 17 years and under must have parental approval to participate. 

Divisions:   Male, Female and WETSUIT (wetsuit not eligible for age group prizes)

Age Groups:   14&Under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80&Over.
