As part of its Healthy Parks, Healthy People: Truckee Meadows initiative, Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation, in partnership with Washoe County and KNPB Channel 5, is proud to present their Explore the Outdoors 5K Fun Run and Walk at Rancho San Rafael Regional Park. The run kicks-off the EXPLORE THE OUTDOORS 4th Annual Spring Event. A day of family fun at the park brought to you by KNPB Channel 5 and Washoe County.
The 5K (3.1 miles) Fun Run and Walk begins at 9:00 am on Saturday, April 16th and starts and ends at the Chinese Pagoda just west of the May Museum at Rancho San Rafael Regional Park. Directly following the 5K at 10:00 am, is a free 1K Kids Fun Run at the start/finish line.
Registered runners are highly encouraged to pick up their explorer bags, which include a commemorative t-shirt and other goodies, on Friday, April 15th from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm at the Parks Foundation office at 50 Cowan Drive in Idlewild Park. Runners can also pick up their bag from 8:00-8:45 am the day of the run at the Chinese Pagoda.
