SPRINT - As in the previous two years, Storm the Fort will offer both a half iron distance and a sprint option in 2016. The sprint race consists of a wave point to point 600 meter swim, fairly flat (by East TN standards) 17 mile bike course, and an out and back “around the Fort” 4 mile run on the Kingston greenway. Greenlayer performance shirts, along with the popular miniature cannon awards, highlight the swag. Expected sprint option participation—150
HALF-IRON - The Race for the Cannon enters its third year as a half distance event. A 1.2 mile wave start triangular swim course (wet suit legality determined on race day), followed by a rural rolling 56 mile bike ride (no major climbs) with three bottle exchanges. The run course will be two laps on the Kingston greenway and through downtown Kingston, with the second lap finishing in famous Fort Southwest Point. The run course will include fully stocked aid stations ~ every mile. Greenlayer performance shirts and finisher medals to all participants, miniature cannon awards to age groups, and the coveted genuine cannonball awards to overall male and female winners. Post race food provided by Papa Johns and Subway. Expected half option participation--150
