The Traveler 5k Run/Walk celebrates the return of spring in Union, WA. "The Traveler," a rock formation on the face of Mt. Washington is visible only for a few months every year and only from the Union view of the mountain. The race will be held at the Alderbook Golf & Yacht Club's outdoor space - The Pointe. This site offers a spectacular high bank view of this apparition and a wonderforl 2-acre event space to promote Hood Canal business/organizations, food, art and Pacific Northwest recreation. A portion of the event proceeds will be donated to the local charitable foundations K-Dog Clothing and Kirk and Friends - a local licensed 501c3 organization. The t-shirts are designed by Kirk Endicott who has Down's Syndrome and uses the proceeds to do local phinathropic work in the Hood Canal community. The course meanders through a gorgeous residental community along privately owned roads. Participants enjoy an easy to moderate level paved terrain with a few rolling hills. Warm up with some light cardiovascular stretching hosted by Dale Hubbard - our local celebrity MC to get your body ready to perform at it's best. As you run or walk the course, receive support from the cheers of area residents and 2 hosted water/aid stations to ensure participant hydration and safety. After crossing the finishing line catch a breathtaking view of the Traveler, listen to live local music, enjoy beer/wine/foor, art, massage tables, the awards ceremony and local vendors representing all that the Hood Canal community has to offer.
The event will be hosted at Alderbrook Golf & Yacht Club's outdoor event space - The Point, located at E 330 Country Club Dr E, Union, WA 98592 and festivities begina at 10am.
Day of race registration avaialble at the event location between 9am - 10am and the Run with the Traveler Fun Run will be held prior to the 5k event at 10am.
