Dirty Deeds Offroad Triathlon : Off Road |
Triathlon : Swim 300 Yards, Bike 6.2 Miles, Run 3.1 Miles |
Join us for the Dirty Deeds Offroad Triathlon on the UAF trail system. This sprint distance course will be a fun way to explore some great trails in our back yard.
After a 300 yard swim in the Patty Center pool, hop onto your bike for a 10K taste of UAF's ski trails. You'll cover the baseline winter trail, parts of the Skarland 6-mile loop, the bicycle bumps, beaver slide, T-field, and potato patch. Not to worry if these names mean nothing; the course will be well marked. It may also be boggy and muddy to add to the fun factor. Your bike is dropped at the overlook to begin the run.
The 5K run retraces the baseline winter trail then goes through the potato patch and covers the entire Midnight Express trail. If that's not enough hills and curves, the course continues along the Big Whizzy and ends back at the overlook.
This is a moderately difficult course. All the trails are well established and used regularly. There are some sections with tree roots but nothing very technical requiring advanced mountain biking skills.
