Believe it or not, before the days of bike racks, triathlons and multisport events were still as prominent as ever. The Tributary Retro Triathlon is taking a step back to those days by offering a unique race that highlights the retro allure that once was. Retro attire is encouraged to enhance the experience and atmosphere!
Athletes will receive a final race time, with the focus on participation rather than competition.
Our goal is to expose and continue to educate all participants on a healthy and active multisport lifestyle.
We will be following all USAT rules and there are no refunds. Helmets are mandatory for all participants! No blocking and no drafting is allowed on the bike course.
This race is open to first-timers, seasoned veterans, and those looking to stay active, all while in a fun atmosphere. We will close registration at 200 athletes. Note you will receive only a finish time and not splits.
Every registered athlete gets a race T-shirt. We will also have some pretty awesome age group awards to give out!

Event Timeline:
6:00 a.m. - Parking opens. You will be parking in the back of the community along the streets. We will have volunteers to help guide you to the area.
6:00 a.m. – 7:30 a.m. - Race check-in, body marking, and timing chip are all by the pool.
7:30 a.m. - Report to the pool for the swim seed positioning.
7:45 a.m. - Announcements and last minute course updates.
8:00 a.m. - Race starts!
10:45 a.m. - Awards ceremony begins (or once everyone has finished)
The race will begin pool-side at 8am based as a time trial start, with athletes starting every 5 seconds. The swim will be 250 yards as you move down and back through the pool lanes.
You will then transition to a grassy area before heading out to the out and back 6 mile bike. We will have a transition area, but no bike racks. (This is a Retro Tri!)
Your run will take you through the Tributary community as a 2 mile out and back.
Don't look for this race to be flat, but it will indeed be fun!

In addition to your Retro t-shirt, we will be giving out age group awards for top three placements.
Age group awards will be given three deep in the following categories: 13-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+.
