Mitten Made Doulas is proud to present the 1st annual No Child Wet Behind 5K, 1 Mile Family Fun Run/Walk & Diaper Drive!

With 38 events across the county, No Child Wet Behind is brining awareness to the severely unaddressed issue of diaper needs of struggling families.

1 in 3 American families struggle to meet adequate diaper needs for their infants and toddlers. There are no government programs that assist with diaper costs.

Proceeds from this Metro Detroit event will benefit Turning Point Shelter.

Event Day will consist of:

1. ~ Diaper Drive to support Turning Point Shelter
2. ~ 5K
3. ~ 1 Mile Family Fun Run
4. ~ Vendor Showcase
5. ~ Raffle
6. ~ Entertainment and fun for the whole family
7. ~ And More!

Details

What: No Child Wet Behind 5K Race and 1 Mile Family Fun Run/Walk (Strollers & Rollers Welcome)

When: Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 9am (Line-up at 8:30am)

Where: Start and finish at Eastwood Beach, Stony Creek Metropark, Shelby Twp., MI

Purpose: Diaper Drive and Race proceeds for this Metro Detroit event will benefit Turning Point Shelter.

Finisher Medals:  All participants upon crossing the Finish Line will receive a finisher medal.  

Race Day Shirts: Participants are encouraged to wear their cotton/blend No Child Wet Behind Race Day Shirts (included with registration) to raise awareness about the many families in our community, and around the US, struggling with diaper need.  Also, please bring a pack of diapers!

Cost: 5K -Through 5/10/216 $25. 5/11/2016 - 5/21/2016 $30. Cost does not include $2.50 RunSignUp fee.

5K Run/Walk Starting Ceremonies:

· 8:30am – Line-up of racers (Walkers & strollers at back)

· 8:35am - Introductory words

· 8:45 am - National Anthem 

· 9:00 am - Official race start 

1-Mile Family Fun Run/Walk Starting Ceremonies:

· 9:45 am - Announcements and line-ups begin

· 10:00 am – Fun Run Start
