Event Details: DATES AND TIME: Adult Olympic Distance Race – Sunday, September 18, 2016 – 8:00am 1500 meter swim – 26.5 mi. bike – 10K run Adult and Junior Super Sprint Race – Sunday, September 18 – approximately 8:30am - 200 meter swim – 4 mile bike – 1.25 mile run Check-in - 6:00-7:30am (At picnic shelter next to transition area) Mandatory Pre-race meeting for both races - 7:45 a.m. Olympic race begins at 8:00 am Transition area will be closed at 7:45 am Super Sprint Race will start at approximately 8:30am or when all Olympic race swimmers are out on the bike. SITE: Directions to Branched Oak Lake; 15 miles northwest of Lincoln and three miles north of Malcolm. The entrance is on NW 140th Street, and enters Liebers Point on West Branched Oak Road. Park Permits will be Prepaid for all competitors and volunteers REGISTER FEE: Olympic Triathlon entry fee is $85 per person and $120 per team. Super Sprint Race entry fee is $50 and $75 per team, all Team members MUST pay for the one day USA triathlon insurance fee of $15 if you are not a member. Late fee will be charged for all entries registered on September 1-14th, $110.00 for Olympic Individual and $150.00 for Team, and $75.00 for Super Sprint Individual and $90.00 for a Team. After the 15th at 6:00pm the late fee will be $135 for Olympic and $95 for Super Sprint. Registration Limits will be 200 for the Olympic Race and 100 for the Super Sprint. Please list your USAT membership # on the online registration form. You must also read the USAT waiver and initial agreement on the online registration page. AWARDS: Age groups will consist of 14 & under (Super Sprint only), 19 & under, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34……… to 85 & over in five year increments for both male and female of both races. Team Competition – Olympic Race - 89 & under, 90 & over in Mixed, Female, and Male categories. Super Sprint Race – 45 & under, 46-89, 90 & over in Mixed, Female, and Male categories. A $100 gift certificate to the Lincoln Running Company will be awarded to the top male and female athlete in the Olympic triathlon. FINAL ENTRY DEADLINE: Registrations must be received online only by Wednesday, September 14th by 6:00pm. No T-shirt is guaranteed for Late entries after Septemeber 1st, Late Fees will apply! COMPETITION FORMAT: Chip timing will be used in all races. Olympic Race swim leg is a triangle counterclockwise 1.5 kilometer swim starting from the main south beach on Liebers Point and will be lined with support craft. Swim warm-up will only be allowed before the pre-race meeting, no warm-ups allowed before the start of each wave. The cycling leg is a 40 kilometer bike around Branched Oak Recreation area (2 laps), and the final leg is a 10 kilometer out and back run along the paved road to Liebers Point and an out & back leg on 1 mile of gravel road. Course maps are available on the home page. The Super Sprint Race will be all within Liebers Point starting with a 200 meter swim from the beach. Bike course will be 4 miles out and back on West Branched Oak Rd. The 1.25 mile run course will make a loop around roadway counterclockwise to finish line west of transition area. Team competition consists of three members, each participating in one segment of the triathlon. Mixed teams must consist of at least one female. Teams are determined by combining the ages of all three team members. If any leg in the team competition does not finish, either or both remaining team members may complete the remaining portion BUT WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR AWARDS. A wave start will be implemented by age groups depending on the numbers, approx. 60 to 75 per wave) Order of waves will be posted on website the week before the event date, starting with the Championship heat and then the youngest to oldest age groups possibly combined together followed by the last wave of Teams competitors and newbies. NOTE: Swim course may be altered due to water and/or weather conditions in a manner that will not conflict with other ongoing lake activities. If conditions cause a cancellation of the swim the format will be a 5K – 26.5mi. – 5K, and a 1 mile – 4 mile – 1 mile Duathlon. TEAM ROSTER: If entering a team division, the TEAM ROSTER/WAIVER form must be fully completed and signed by each team member (or by parent/guardian, if a minor). RULES: USA Triathlon rules will apply. This is a sanctioned USAT race. Check out the most commonly violated rules on the Links listed on the website. Drafting penalties will be enforced. All cyclists must wear an ANSI/SNELL/CPSC/USDOT approved hard-shell bike helmet. USAT Wet suits rules will apply. Center line rule will be strictly enforced. PARKING, CAMPING & PARK PERMIT INFORMATION: Athletes will Park around parking lots in Area 5, parking attendants will be directing you to the proper areas. Prepare to walk your bikes and equipment to the Transition Area approximately ¼ of a mile. Equipment can be dropped off at the entrance to Liebers Point Transition area no later than 7:15am.
