The Beaufort River Swim (BRS) is a 3-mile comprtitive open water swim along the shoreline of the tidal Beaufort River. We also offer a 1-mile Fun Swim which starts at the Beaufort Memorial Hospital dosck after all competitive swimmers have passed by. The Fun Swim is a great opportunity to experince what open water swimming is all about or just kick back and enjoy the scenic view of Beaufort form the water.Swimmers of all levels participate in the BRS: triathletes, recreational lap swimmers and competitive age group swimmers. The BRS is a fundraisers with all proceeds ebenfitting our Learn to Swim Program, allowing individuals (many children) who would not have access or the finacial means to recive swiming lessons free of charge at teh Y. Lats yera we raised $8,800! This is 10th year of the BRS.

Directions:
The Downtown Beaufort Marina dock is located at 1006 Bay Street, Beaufort SC 29920. Beaufort is loacted in the Lowcountry of South carolina, about half way between Charleston, SC and Savannah, GA. All swimmers should park and check in for the race at the Downtown Beaufort Marina Parking lot and will be bussed by the YMCA to the race start. The finish for both swims is at the Downtown Marina dock.
