2008 QUARQ XTERRA Iron Creek Triathlon:

  • Swim is 1000 m (2 laps of 500 m with short beach run)
  • Bike is a 22K off road single track loop.
  • Run is a 8K two loop run around the lake 5.

    • Course Information:


    The course features a 1000m swim, 22k mountain bike and an 8k run
  • The swim is a spectator-friendly, two-lap course, with a short exit between laps, at scenic Ironcreek Lake.
  • The ride climbs from Ironcreek Lake up to the Old Baldy trail system in the Black Hills National Forest. The ride is entirely within forested areas, so bring your technical skills and expect lots of single-track.
  • After descending back to Ironcreek Lake, the race goes to a challenging two-lap run around the lake, where spectators cheer on the racers as they tackle difficult hike sections on each lap of the run

  • Thirteen miles from Spearfish, SD, Ironcreek Lake is nestled in the northern end of the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota.
