Registration is currently open for the fundraising event of the spring season, the 4th Annual Tour de Pier. The award-winning stationary cycling event makes its way back to the iconic Manhattan Beach Pier. The unique fundraiser benefits three cancer charities: the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research; the Cancer Support Community Redondo Beach and the Uncle Kory Foundation. The Tour de Pier brings one of the hottest indoor fitness activities – stationary cycling – to the gorgeous outdoors. Participants will be overlooking the Manhattan Beach Pier and riding in place while taking in the historic Southern California ocean view. The area’s best instructors and celebrity guests will spin riders through five 50-minute sessions with energizing music and loads of excitement. In addition to cycling, there will be a Health & Fitness Expo, a Cardio Kids Fun Zone with games and activities as well as entertainment. Previous celebrity riders have featured: Paul Stanley (KISS guitarist); Tony Cruz (Olympic cyclist); Eric Fonoimoana (Olympic gold medalist - volleyball); Heather Petri (Olympic gold medalist - water polo); Kerri Walsh (3x Olympic gold medalist - volleyball); David Tutera (WE tv); Dr. Jennifer Berman, MD (co-host, The Drs.) and more. Participants register to reserve a bike for five one-hour sessions and recruit up to four teammates or ride individually. This event has sold out three years in a row. Online registration closes on Sunday, May 1 at midnight or as space permits. Since 2013, the Tour de Pier has raised more than $1.8M for cancer charities. Registration fee per rider is $150. Each bike team must raise a minimum of $750. Registration fees will count towards the $750. Health expo is free and open to the public.
