Family fun, teamwork, being active, and doing good are all part of the scenery at the Tonka Mud Run. Registerto run or sign up to volunteer . You do not want to miss this!
What makes this event unique? It has obstacles and distances for any athletic ability. The Tonka Mud Run is a 3.5-mile course with challenges that include building sand castles, navigating a maze, doing the limbo, and taking a mud bath! The “Just Have Fun” option allows racers to take shortcuts and enjoy as much or little of the course as they choose. The Mini-Tonka Mud Run is a quarter-mile long for younger children.
After the race, get hosed off by Chanhassen Fire Department, dance to the DJ, or participate in a number of other activities designed for family fun. Awards given out include best costume, youngest mudder and oldest mudder.
Lauren M. wrote, “My family and I participated in the Tonka Mud Run this past weekend and had a terrific time! The event was so well organized and a terrific way for families to spend a Saturday morning being active and giving back. We can’t wait to do it again next year.”
Southwest Metro Magazine listed the Tonka Mud Run as one of the best 5ks in the area.
The upcoming race on July 16 will be the fourth year of the event, which benefits a local satellite of Kids Against Hunger. The race will be held at the beautiful Lake Minnewashta Regional Park.
The course is 3.5 miles with shortcuts and winds through the beautiful Lake Minnewashta Park.. There is prairie, pavement, trails, and beach to traverse by running, crawling, jumping, climbing, and tunneling your way through. The final obstacle is the mud bath!
