Tulsa Area Triathletes is excited for this year's Tulsa Triathlon! This year, the Tulsa Triathlon will be at Twin Cove Point at Birch Lake in Barnsdall, OK on June 25th and 26th, 2016. This is a beautiful location for swimming, cycling and running. Course maps will be posted soon!
We are excited this year to announce we will have a Half Iron distance 70.3 on Sunday!
The events for the 2016 Tulsa Triathlon will be on Saturday 6/25 a Sprint and Kids' distance. Sunday 6/26 will feature an Olympic, Aquabike and 70.3 distance.
NEW this year!! 70.3 distance: 1.2 m swim, 56m bike and 13.1m run. We will also have the Aquabike for the Olympic and 70.3 distance.
All participants will receive a tech fabric race shirt and swim cap that must be worn during swim. All finishers will receive a finishers medal. "Doublers" (complete the sprint and oly) and 70.3 finishers will receive a special finisher visor on Sunday.
Age group awards for Sprint, Olympic, Aquabike and 70.3 distance.
Top 3 overall award for the Doubler Finishers.
Packet pick-up will be at RunnersWorld Tulsa, 3920 S Peoria, Tulsa,OK 74105, Thursday, June 23rd 10am-7:30pm and Friday, June 24th 10am-7pm. You and ONLY YOU CAN pick up your race packet. YOU MUST BRING YOUR USAT CARD AND PHOTO ID!!
Olympic and 70.3 Participants ONLY can pick up race packets with USAT card and photo id on Saturday June 25th from 10am-5pm at RunnersWorld Tulsa.
If you live more than 40 miles from Tulsa you can email [email protected] to be place on an exception list.
No changing tents at race and NO NUDITY ALLOWED at ANYTIME.
Sunday June 26th 2016 Distances:
Olympic: 1500 meter swim, 40k road bike, 10K run
Aquabike Oly: 1500 meter swim, 40k road bike
Aquabike 70.3: 1.2 m swim, 56 mile road bike
TAT 70.3: 1.2 m swim, 56 mile road bike, 13.1 mile run
All swimming will be in the lake in open water. There will be water support in the lake. Lake temperatures will be measured the morning of the race to determine if wet suit legal.
Sunday June 26th
6:00 AM - Transition and Athlete Check In Opens
7:00 AM - Transition Area Closes to everyone
7:05 AM – Pre-Race Meeting for all participants
7:15 AM - Olympic and TAT 70.3 Distance Triathlon Begins (Wave swim start)
