The TIKISwim is part of the two day Oceanside Harbor Days Festival Welcome to the party. Six years ago we approached the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce about adding a 2.4 mile ocean swim to their two day Harbor Days Festival. The city was a bit skeptical. but the Chamber staff saw the vision and worked with us to make TIKISwim1 happen. We have sold out the event every year and expect this year to be no diffrent, especially with the addition of the Trident Swim Series. Completing the Spring Classic Swim in May, followed by the Labor Day Pier Swim and lastly, TIKISwim6 will earn you the coveted TRIDENT SWIM SERIES medal. So what makes the TIKISwim so special you wonder? First, as mentioned earlier, the TIKISwim awards both wetsuit and traditional divisions equally yet separately and we do this for both the 2.4 and 1.2 mile distances. Second, would be our amazing finisher SWAG. Each finisher recieves a custom trucker hat designed specifically for tha year, a hand woven finisher lei, a unique finisher TIKI(new this year) and a pancake breakfast or breakfast burrito. Third, our unique course! The 2.4 mile course starts south of the pier and finishes in the calm protected waters of the Oceanside Harbor ending at the boat launch ramp. The 1.2 mile course starts on the beach directly across from the shared finish. Fourth would be the family friendly event venue. There are over 400 vendors for shopping, eating and a kid's zone for playing. We hope to see you Sunday September 25th @ TIKISwim6!!

Course Information:

The TikiSwim consists of two distances, 2.4 miles and 1.2 miles. The 2.4 mile course is a mass beach start from the south side of the Oceanside Pier @ 7:30. Swimmers swim straight out the first buoy where they make a right turn and head straight for the mouth of the Oceanside Harbor. The course is marked with numerous buoys. Once inside the Oceanside Harbor, swimmers can swim as close as they would like,on their right shoulder, to the harbor structures such as the jettys and docks. It is the swim equivalent to "cutting the corners". The finish line is located at the top of the boat launch ramps. The 1.2 mile course is also a mass beach start @ 8:00. The start is directly across from the harbor finish line, so this course is an exxagerated "U-turn". The 1.2 mile swimmers, will swim straight out and merge with the 2.4 mile swimmers at the first buoy. From that point on, the courses are identical. Once at the finish there are two finishing chutes. One for all wetsuit swimmers and one for all traditional swimmers.
