The Red River High Mountain Half Marathon and 5K is a beautiful, challenging, road race. The course follows the Red River into the area's Upper Valley and the runner is surrounded by high mountain peaks. The half and the 5K are both out and back courses with the challenging part the first half, so at the turn around you will have an almost totally downhill run on the return. We include a pre-race runner's reception and a post race award ceremony and party for all of our runners. Half marathon runners earn a custom finisher's medal, and the first 150 registered participants will receive technical t-shirts. Overall and age group winners will receive beautiful custom medals.
Event details and schedule
Runners may pick up race packets on Friday at the Chamber of Commerce offices, 101 W. River St. or at the Runner's Reception, or on Saturday morning at the starting area at Brandenburg Park. The runner's reception will be TBD. Both races start promptly at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The award ceremony will be held at 2:00 p.m. and will include plenty of food and fun, as well as a silent auction and raffle. Parking is easily accessible around the starting area at the park, and there are also plenty of restrooms inside the Conference Center. Runners should dress in layers since the day may start quite cold and warm up quickly.
