Established in 1981, the Santa Barbara Triathlon is one of the longest running triathlons in the world. We expect another record year of participation with a full field of approximately 1900 athletes to come out and be a part of this exciting community event. The local support from the business community and the hundreds of volunteers that participate each year has afforded us the reputation as one of the best-organized triathlons in the country. Both elite athletes and first-time competitors are drawn to the Santa Barbara Triathlon for its temperate climate and beautiful scenery.
Long course competitors can expect a one mile ocean swim followed by a demanding 34-mile bike combining flat straight-aways paralleling the coastline with climbs through the hills of Montecito. Finally, if you are doing the triathlon rather than the Aquabike you will finish with a 10-mile run featuring ocean views and some challenging inclines. Divisions include Individual, Relays, and Aquabike.
The event's start, finish, and transition are all located at the historic East Beach Cabrillo Pavillion. For information, please visit our website at www.santabarbaratriathlon.com or call our office at (805) 682-1634.
