The McMinnville-Warren County Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Cumberland Caverns and Smooth Rapids presents this new adventure race!
This race consists of three legs: caving, biking, and kayaking to challenge your ability to tackle our community’s unique terrain. Racers will begin at Cumberland Caverns where they will don a headlamp and charge to the Ten Acre Room where deep dirt and elusive items exist. Racers must dig and locate this item before exiting the cave to their bikes. Then, racers will mount bikes to race to McMinnville’s Pepper Branch Park where kayaks await for a paddle race down the Barren Fork to Smooth Rapids. Once arrived, racers will enjoy a warm welcome with entertainment, awards, food, assorted beverages, and camping facilities. Prizes include visits to and goods from local destinations!
Racers can complete this individually or as a team of three, splitting the legs between them. Think strategically; form an alliance with your coworkers, friends, or family!
Grand Prize: Tickets to see Steve Earle @ Bluegrass Underground on Sept. 13th!
Two tickets for the individual winner and 3 tickets for the winning team!
The method of awarding the second and third prize are being kept secret for sport. However, know that you don't have to be the quickest to win a prize! Any racer can win prizes.
Not into racing but still want to join the fun? We have a float just for you! A relaxing float will take place from Pepper Branch Park to Smooth Rapids at 3pm. Floaters will also be eligible for certain prizes.
Hang around for the awards, music, food, and fun at Smooth Rapids!

Take exit 81B to merge onto US-231 N/S Church St. toward Murfreesboro

Turn right onto S Rutherford Blvd

Turn right onto US-70S E/Mercury Blvd

Continue to follow US-70S E for 33.6 mi.

turn slightly right onto US-70 and merge onto US-70S E

Continue straight onto W Main St for1.8 mi then turn left to stay on W. Main St.

Turn right at the 2nd cross street onto S Chancery St

Turn left onto TN-56 S/W Colville St, continue for 1.7 mi.

Take the U.S. 70S W ramp to McMinnville and Continue onto US-70S W

Turn right onto TN-127 S

After 3.0 mi, Turn left onto Old Shellsford Rd

After 1.3 mi Turn left onto TN-8 S and continue for 1.5 mi

Turn left onto Dark Hollow Rd

After 0.7 mi Turn left onto Cumberland Caverns Rd
Destination will be on the right
If coming from Chattanooga via Dunlap, continue on Hwy 111., then turn left onto Hwy. 8. As you come down Harrison Ferry Mountain into McMinnville, turn right onto Dark Hollow Rd. and pick up at that turn in the first set of directions.
