Join us Saturday, September 19, 2015 for the Haiti Rehab Project 5K and Obstacle Challenge.  Come race with us to raise funds for those with disabilities in Haiti.

As a result of the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, numerous people experienced traumatic amputations, spinal cord injuries and other serious injuries. Initially, outside assistance was present in Haiti, but most immediate response organizations have vacated Haiti, leaving massive needs unmet. Haiti is the poorest country in the western hemisphere and an estimated 10% of Haitians have a disability. The rehabilitation needs in Haiti continue to be extensive.

We are a non-profit organization whose mission is to support rehabilitation and medical clinics, orphanages, families, and outreach programs for those with special needs in Haiti.

The race will be held at FT Proctor Park at 1901 Rutger Street in Utica, NY.  Drive to the parking lot at the intersection of Rutger and Ludlow.

The 5K route will include three trips around the larger loop.  The Obstacle Challenge will be approximately 1 mile following the smaller loop with obstacles just off the path.  Planned obstacles for teams of 2 participants include climbing over walls, combat crawl under netting, partner sack carry and tire flip, plyo rock jump, human wheelbarrow, tire run, and partner carry.  This is your chance to get in on the first year of our partner Obstacle Challenge!

We are so excited to invite athletes from Haiti to our 5K and Obstacle Challenge this year.   Our fundraising page will be devoted to funding their travel to the US so they can participate in the race.  Additional funds raised over the cost of their trip will go to the mission of the Haiti Rehab Project including funding a rehab clinic in Haiti.  Please thoughtfully consider making a donation here.  Any amount is greatly appreciated!

See you at the course!
