Packet pickup will be on 09/26, at the Flagler Avenue Boardwalk from 1700-1830. Packets also available day of race.
Day of registration will begin at 0630, and participants will add $5 day of race.
Check in will also begin at 0630.
This race is NOT chip-timed. It's a hand-timed race. Maybe next year!
Shuttles will leave to the start promptly at 0730. Don't be late!
Race will begin in two waves at 0800 and 0810.
Swim caps will be provided, but bring your own swim gear (obviously).
Don't assume the start location. Go to check-in to make sure you're starting at the proper location.
WET SUIT LEGAL. ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST SIGN WAIVER.
***THIS IS A RAIN OR SHINE EVENT, WE WILL NOT CANCEL THE SWIM UNLESS THE SURF IS GREATER THAN SIX FEET.***
Course Information:
The first annual IronGuard Ocean Swim will start at either 27th Avenue Park or Flagler Avenue Boardwalk, depending on the direction of the current. The course will be clearly marked, and lifeguards will be present. The race will feature an Iron and Half-Iron distance, (2.4 and 1.2 miles with the prevailing current). Participants will be shuttled to and from the event start.

All proceeds will benefit the competition team of the Volusia Surf Lifesaving Association, a non-profit organization which helps Volusia County lifeguards compete on the national and international stage. Volusia is currently ranked 3rd in the United States, and Volusia's guards patricipate in over 1500 lifesaving water rescues every year! Volusia lifeguards protect all 47 miles of the Volusia County coastline, including the cities of Ormond Beach, Daytona Beach, Ponce Inlet, and New Smyrna Beach. Help us help the lifeguards!
