Rucknooga is an event thought up by former and current Marines to honor the Fallen Five by doing something Marines are known for, ruck marches. Many servicemen, law enforcement officers, and members of the public have expressed their desire to do something to show respect and honor to those who paid the ultimate sacrifice on 7/16/2015. This ruck not only allows those individuals to do something physical and outside (in the Spirit of the Marines and the City of Chattanooga), but also allows them some closure; to begin where that fateful day began, to pay their respects to the fallen at their gravesite, and to end where five service member’s lives ended.
The money raised will benefit the Chattanooga Heroes Fund which is sponsored by the Community Foundation of Greater Chattanooga. Once approved the public will be notified through social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc). We have decided to cap the event at 150 participants plus support personnel.
