The Crystal Crime Prevention Board is excited to host the 5K Run/Walk "Run for Rocco" to raise money for the Crystal Police Department K9 unit. The 5K will be chip timed.
K9 police dog Rocco was born on November 12, 2011 in Slovakia. The Crystal Police Department received Rocco from the St. Paul Police department through their K9 program. Rocco has served the citizens of Crystal cince May 2013. The name Rocco stands for Ready on Command Crystal Officer.
Rocco has been trained in apprehension, tracking and narcotic detection. He has been a tremendous asset to the Crystal Police Department. The city of Crystal funds most of Rocco's necessities; however it is necessary for the police department to fundraise due to the extensive training and equipment that is needed to keep Rocco in his job.
Course Information:
The course will be inside of Bassett Creek Park in Crystal. A small portion is on Trails the rest will be on paved surfaces
Directions:
Go to Active.com to register. This is a chip timed event. Packet pickup will be on September 25, 12 PM to 7 PM at Signs in MN, 5640 W Broadway, Crystal, MN 55428. Kids race will be at 8:30 AM and the 5K will be at 9 AM. Parking for the event will be on the street.
